NYE and flashing gum shields in Burnie. They even had the blues brothers on stage which is quite a coup for little Burnie. Soon after this we headed back to celebrate the new year in the pool with a few glasses of champagne. |

As ever, it was pretty windy, but that didn't stop us enjoying the beautiful beaches. |

We also took time to visit a sanctuary for rescue and sick animals. Despite their name Tassie devils are really cute. |

The sulphur crested cockatoos are also lovely, if damn noisy. We get them sitting in the tree in our back garden, squawking their heads off, this one just said hello cocky all the time. |
| Tassie pademelions (wallabies) are little, and sweet. Mainland ones are more hefty (see Serendip photos). |

The caves in Gunns plains are pretty spectacular as well, especially the shawl (or bacon) formations. |

Rich also took time out to 'help' with the wood sorting, well thats what he told Heidi anyway. It looked more like playing on a digger to her. |
