The You Yangs

The You Yangs are a nearby national park which was formerly an Aborignal area. Its a range of hills which rise out of the plains surrounding Geelong.
The view from the top of Flinders Peak, you can see for miles right across to Geelong and in theory to Melbourne. Unfortunately its difficult to see as it was a bit hazy.
A geoglyph, a work of art created for the Commonwealth games in melbourne and which represents the wedge tailed eagle, the Aboriginal spirit who created everything in the You Yangs.

A better view from a bit further down the hill over towards
Geelong.

Here I am standing on Big Rock (Australia really is the land of say what you see) which has a large indentation to hold fresh rainwater formerly used by the local indigenous tribe... given the current status of rainfall, its more of a little grassy area.
View back up into the You Yang hills with Rich on big rock.

Rich is trying to turn into a real Aussie bush ranger... see how he now even has the hat !
