Werribee Park

Werribee is a gorgeous English style country park with mansion built in the 19th century by wealthy Scottish/Aussie landowners and sheep farmers. It also has a pretty cool animal park which you can take a 'bus safari' through as well as getting really up close and personal with roos.

The italianate mansion, a really gorgeous and well preserved victorian property

Lots of warnings about snakes everywhere, apparently they like to bask in the sun... not much problem so far then  its been about 17 most days....

Nevertheless we stomped around a lot on the grass to scare them away.
There is also a sculpture walk with works by local artists... this one is "meanwhile down in Tasmania" (one for you Chris, Adele and Alex !)
We really liked this one as well... not sure whether its the art or the view that makes it though..... or the 'sitter' in the picture who certainly has a very specific expression, people will wonder what he was thinking for years to come, much akin to the Mona Lisa.
At the riverine, an ancient Aboriginal land next to the Werribee river.
The victoria state rose garden is also here. It is simply stunning a feast for the senses, shame we can't do scratch and sniff internet.
